Recurring Projects and Spotlighted Programs

Benevolence Committee Information
FCC is very fortunate to have a Benevolence Fund supported by member contributions. These funds are used to assist our members who may experience temporary financial difficulties. Our Benevolence Fund has helped church members with rent, insurance payments, utility payments and care repairs. These funds also support help support the Collin County Assistance Center in helping those that are not members of our congregation. Non-members are referred to CCAC because their network is better set up to help them in a proper and efficient way.

If you have a need, please see one of our ministers. Applications are available in the church office and all information is kept strictly confidential. There are three members on this committee that review the required application form and follows a set of strict quidelines. If you would like to contribute to the Benevolence Fund:
  • tithe.ly specify Local Benevolence in "Give To"
  • Mail your check to the office or place it in the offering plate on Sunday.
Please write “Benevolence Fund” in the memo line.
If you have questions, please email Kathryne Bayle at klbayle@yahoo.com

Assistance Center of Collin County

This wonderful organization is a FCC Plano favorite and is a valuable resource Within Collin County. They help unemployed and under-employed families and individuals get back on their feet, in many different ways. These include job training, counseling, tax help, and rent help. They also help with English as Second Language classes.

Assistance Center is always in need of volunteers in all capacities. The center is just three short blocks from FCC Plano, and is a friendly, supportive environment . . . plus training is provided. Please consider volunteering your time, or needed supplies. For volunteer opportunities, please contact Yvonne Booker at 972-422-1850 for additional information or find an application online at www.assistancecenter.org

Shoes for Orphan Souls

A ministry of Buckner International has distributed more than 20 million pairs of new shoes to vulnerable children in the United States and to orphans in 74 countries around the world. Orphanages do not receive enough funding to support the children in their care. One of the greatest and most immediate needs is a pair of shoes. Many of the children receive one pair of shoes to last the entire year, and some don’t have shoes at all.

VBS COLLECTION OF SHOES – During Vacation Bible School, our children collect new shoes to donate to Shoes for Orphan Souls

Hundreds of shoes are donated each year, and we always aim to increase that number. We hope you’ll help!

Kids Against Hunger

This organization’s approach to achieving its goal – the eradication of world hunger – includes the packaging of a highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice casserole by volunteers at numerous locations Within the USA and Canada; and the distribution of those meals to starving children and their families in 70 countries through partnerships with humanitarian organizations worldwide.

Outreach in Action

“You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works.” James 2:22 ESV

Blessings Box is Up and Running!

Give what you can. Take what you need. Above all, be Blessed!
Our box is up and running! Everyone is invited to help keep filled. Non-perishable foods, cans with pop tops, socks, undies, gloves, soap, deodorant…you get the idea. Leave in the box, or bring to the front office. We hope ANY of our neighbors will take what helps. Our only wish is that we have something needed, and that God will lead them to what they need.

First Christian Church Plano’s Outreach team prays that God not only leads those that need just a little something to our box, but Outreach prays that God will keep those in need safe, healthy, back on their feet, and ALWAYS in God’s loving hand!
